Post-Raya Skin Recovery Your 7-Day Reset Routine

Raya is wonderful. The food, the late nights, the back-to-back open houses, the family. But your skin has quietly been through a lot: irregular routines, more makeup than usual, travel, not enough water, and probably not enough sleep. Here is how to reset properly in seven days.

Day 1 and 2: Rest and Gentle Cleansing

Do not jump into a heavy routine straight away. Your skin is likely tired and sensitised. Stick to a gentle cleanser, skip the makeup, and keep your routine simple: toner, lightweight moisturiser, done. Hold off on actives like AHAs, retinol, and Vitamin C for now. This week is about repair first, treatment second.

Day 3 and 4: First Masking Session

Start the active recovery here. A bio-cellulose mask at this stage is like pressing the reset button: intense hydration, barrier repair, and a focused dose of skin-loving actives all in one go.

Apply your toner before masking to maximise absorption. At this stage, reach for a deeply hydrating bio-cellulose mask with calming actives to help settle any post-Raya inflammation. If your skin is feeling particularly tight or reactive, prioritise barrier repair first before anything else.

Day 5: Light Exfoliation

By day five your skin should feel more settled. Now is the right time to introduce gentle exfoliation to clear any post-event congestion and address the dullness that comes with disrupted sleep and diet.

The right exfoliant here is key. Opt for something gentle like mandelic acid over glycolic, since mandelic is less likely to aggravate skin that is still in recovery but ready to start clearing.

Day 6: Bring Back the Glow

Sun exposure during Raya visits, dehydration, and exhaustion all show up on your skin as dullness and uneven tone. Today is about brightening.

A brightening bio-cellulose mask with stable Vitamin C gives an instant glow reset. Follow with a brightening toner or lotion before bed to keep the work going through the night.

Day 7: Set the Foundation Going Forward

Full routine tonight. Toner, serum, moisturiser, and a gentle mask if you feel like it. Use day seven as the jumping-off point for a consistent routine going forward. One good week is a nice start. One consistent month actually changes your skin.
